Benefits
Scholarship Award:
- Up to 50 scholarships are offered twice a year (biannually).
- Each scholarship is worth up to $10,000 and can be used for either undergraduate or postgraduate studies.
- The Scholarship Office will contact you if you are awarded a scholarship.
How the Scholarship is Paid:
- The scholarship is applied as a credit towards your first semester’s compulsory fees.
- You must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate, PGDip, or master’s program to receive the scholarship payment.
Maintaining the Scholarship:
- To keep the scholarship, you must be enrolled full-time for at least two semesters at the University of Auckland.
Can this Scholarship be Combined with Others?
- This scholarship cannot be combined with the University of Auckland India High Achievers Scholarship, ASEAN High Achievers Scholarship, or International Business Masters Scholarship.
- You can hold this scholarship with other awards, but you must declare them to the Scholarships Office and get approval from the University of Auckland Council.
Eligible Nationalities
This scholarship is open to international students of all nationalities.
Eligibility Criteria
Who can apply?
- You must be an international student (see Note II for details).
- You can be:
- A new student with a conditional or unconditional offer of admission (undergraduate, postgraduate diploma, or master’s degree).
- An English Language Academy (ELA) student with a conditional or unconditional offer.
- A student enrolled or enrolling full-time in the Summer Start International program with a conditional or unconditional offer.
Important Requirements:
- You must be enrolled or enrolling full-time in:
- A postgraduate diploma (PGDip) or master’s degree program.
- An undergraduate degree program (using overseas qualifications).
- You cannot have already begun studying at the University of Auckland (excluding the Summer Start program).
- You cannot have undertaken any previous tertiary study in New Zealand.
- This scholarship excludes students applying for Business Master programs in the Graduate School of Management (GSM) except for the Master of Applied Finance, Master of Business Analytics, and Master of Supply Chain Management.
Selection Criteria:
- A minimum GPA of 6.00 is required.
- Selection is based on:
- Academic merit.
- Quality of your application letter.
- Endorsement by your referee.
- In some cases, your country of origin and how your studies align with the university’s goals.
